ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS & ENGRAVING INSTRUCTIONS Artwork Specifications Dell Awards offers free engraving of customer-supplied logos and artwork. In addition, we maintain a large library of royalty-free clipart and designs also available at no cost to you. Customers will be contacted if submitted artwork is unsuitable for engraving due to low resolution or poor quality. In this case, you may resubmit proper artwork or allow us to clean up or redraw your image. Art charges are typically $15.00-25.00. Preferred File Formats Vector Vector graphics are typically generated using drawing or illustration programs and are composed of lines, objects and fills. Vector artwork is preferred for most engraving projects involving logos, fonts and drawings. Preferred Vector Formats CDR (CorelDraw) EPS (Encapsulated Post Script) AI (Adobe Illustrator) PDF (Converted from a vector file) Instructions: Convert all fonts to curves, outlines or paths. Raster or Bitmap Raster graphics are digital images made up of pixels captured by digital scanners and cameras. They may also be created by pixel editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop. Raster or Bitmap images are best suited for photographs and pictures. Preferred Raster (Bitmap) Formats JPG, TIFF, BMP, GIF Instructions: Images should be 300 DPI or higher, original size or larger. Uploading Artwork and Engraving Documents You may upload your artwork and engraving files during checkout or after placing your order. Please include your name, company or order reference number. Please send engraving documents in Microsoft Word, Excel or as a PDF file. To use the Upload Box, click Browse, select the desired directory and file. Click Submit and wait for the file to download before continuing. First, please keep in mind that you may place any order without initially providing engraving instructions or artwork. This will allow us to access our inventory quicker to better serve you. Second, we will provide a proof of all individual awards for your approval before engraving (excluding team trophy orders). This will give you the option to make revisions to both the text as well as the layout of your award. We will not proceed with your order until you are satisfied and have given your final approval. Third, communication is crucial when dealing with custom products and services. We welcome your questions and comments and are always ready to help. Please type each engraved line of text in the order you would like it to be read. In the case of multiple awards, you do not need to rewrite the unchanged text for each award. Simply denote the variable text and include a list with the layout (see examples below).
